Nawaz Sharif Wins Supreme Court Ruling

On August 23, 2007, Nawaz Sharif won a major Supreme Court of Pakistan ruling. A seven-judge bench ruled that the exiled former prime minister and his brother Shahbaz Sharif had an inalienable right to return to Pakistan. The court dismissed the government's claim that a 10-year exile agreement legally barred them from coming back.
