Pakistan established 24-hour telegraph and telephone service between East and West Pakistan

On August 22, 1952, Pakistan launched a continuous 24-hour telegraph and telephone link between East Pakistan and West Pakistan. Handled by the state's Post and Telegraph Department, this connection aimed to improve long-distance administrative and public contact across the more than 1,600 kilometers of Indian territory separating the two wings.
