Radio Pakistan to officially announce the birth of an independent Pakistan
On August 13, 1947, at precisely 11:59 PM, broadcaster Mustafa Ali Hamdani went live from Lahore on Radio Pakistan to officially announce the birth of an independent Pakistan just as the clock struck midnight. August 13 also marks eve celebrations nationwide heading into Independence Day.
