On 9 May 2023, widespread violent protests erupted across Pakistan following the arrest of former Prime Minister and PTI leader Imran Khan from the Islamabad High Court. Supporters targeted military installations, including the Lahore Corps Commander's House (Jinnah House) and GHQ Rawalpindi, causing severe damages exceeding Rs. 2.5 billion.
